THE SANTOS FESTIVAL OF CYCLING : MCLAREN VALE TO WILLUNGA

The unique spectacle that is the d’Arenberg Cube will play host to the start of Be Safe Be Seen Stage 3. Basque in the stunning vineyards at d’Arenberg Winery and enjoy food and wine by the glass before (and after) seeing off the riders as they embark on their journey to Willunga Hill. This will be the first time for the women’s race taking on Willunga-Hill! Rolling out from the Cube, we will take in a full stage of vineyards, incredible beaches and the very iconic and game changer for the race, Willunga Hill. For the men’s race, Willunga Hill the highlight of the event since the races inception and will wrap up an exciting (and tough) race for both men’s and women’s teams.

The Fleurieu Film Festival
The Fleurieu Film Festival is an industry-standard, competitive short film festival held on the Fleurieu Peninsula as an avenue for new and emerging filmmakers to showcase their work. The Festival will contribute to the arts and culture in the region and showcase great food, wine and entertainment. Films from the Festival will form a “roadshow” to be screened in towns in the Fleurieu Peninsula, to spread excellent and enjoyable entertainment to those unable to attend the major outdoor event.

César Franck – Sonata in A major for Violin and Piano.
Schubert, Liszt and Kreisler set the scene for Cesar Frank’s Sonata, the greatest work for solo violin and piano of the Romantic Canon. A work of irresistible drama and beauty. Played by celebrated South Australian artists Helen Ayres, violin and Anna Goldsworthy, pianoforte. Helen has performed with the BBC Scottish Symphony and London Philharmonic Orchestra across England, Scotland, Germany, Austria and China.
In 2021, Anna will be Artist & Writer in Residence at the Melbourne Recital Centre. She has recently appeared with the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, the SSO, the AYO, and undertaken a six-city recital tour of China.
With the Seraphim Trio, of which they are foundation members, Helen and Anna perform regularly across Australia and have recorded numerous CDs for ABC Classic.

This concert will be led from the cello desk by Sharon Grigoryan [formerly cellist of the ASQ]. Sharon will also play the solo part in pieces by Fauré and Tchaikovsky.
The centrepiece of the program is the magnificent song cycle of Gustav Mahler, sung by mezzo soprano, Elizabeth Campbell, who enjoys such success with Opera Australia, Victorian Opera and Capital City Symphony Orchestras all over Australia.

Adelaide music lovers will readily recognise Jonathan Bligh: young and brilliantly talented, he has triumphed in the best British and American finishing schools. Under Jonathan our Chamber Choir will explore early repertoire that reveals unmistakable expressiveness as well as core 19th century works from what became known as the Romantic Era.

LECONFIELD WINES MCLAREN VALE MARATHON
The Leconfield Wines McLaren Vale Marathon is a spectacular run along the coastline and through the vines, finishing in the heart of McLaren Vale. The point-to-point marathon course has a net descent of 140m+.
The event also features a half marathon on Sunday with 13K & 6K races and a kids’ mile on Saturday afternoon – suitable for runners and walkers alike. The McLaren Vale Vintage & Classic Event is a great family day celebration of vintage and classic motoring.
