d’Arenberg

d’Arenberg is a rustic place, some say old-fashioned. Since 1912 the Osborn family have grown grapes and made wine in the picturesque surrounds of McLaren Vale. Today, fourth generation family member Chester Osborn is at the winemaking helm, making distinctive wines using traditional methods in the winery and the vineyard.

Leconfield Winery

With a strong wine industry heritage dating from 1837, the family has developed a distinguished international reputation for elegant fine wines.

Maxwell Winery

Maxwell Wines Maxwell Mead is Australia’s famous and favourite honey wine. It is made in simple terms by fermenting pure South Australian honey, creating a beverage brimming with uniquely rich flavours and aromas. Introduced to Australia by Ken Maxwell (1915 – 2004), the Maxwell family is the largest and most successful producer of mead in the southern hemisphere.

Wirra Wirra

Wirra Wirra Long respected for the consistency of its white wines, Wirra Wirra has now established an equally formidable reputation for its reds. The wines are of exemplary character, quality and style,The Angelus Cabernet Sauvignon and RWS Shiraz battling each other for supremacy, with The Absconder Grenache one to watch.

Chapel Hill Winery

Chapel Hill Winery The cellar door is set within an historic 19th century stone church from which the winery takes its name.  Wine quality is unfailingly excellent. The production comes from estate plantings of shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, verdelho, savagnin, sangiovese and merlot, plus contract-grown grapes. The red wines are not filtered or fined, and there are no tannin or enzyme additions, just SO2 – natural red wines. 

Hugh Hamilton’s Hugh Hamilton’s cellar door is one of the most stunning in the region. An inspired glass rotunda set on a ridge, it is the only place where you get near 360-degree views of the region. The cellar door is lined with the original jarrah from Vat 15 of the historic Hamilton’s Ewell winery, the largest wooden vat ever built in the southern hemisphere.

Kay Brothers Amery

Kay Brothers Amery Winery celebrated its first grape crush in 1895 and is the oldest McLaren Vale winery still in founding family. Of particular interest is Block 6 Shiraz, made from 120+-year-old vines; both vines and wines are going from strength to strength. Celebrates its 130th anniversary in 2020.

Fox Creek Wines

Fox Creek Wines is between McLaren Vale and Willunga. The expansive grassed areas surrounded by flower beds, olive and gum trees and of course vineyards, allow visitors to find their own tranquil spot from which to enjoy a view of the cottage, the Fox Creek winery and our iconic wine region, McLaren Vale.

Penny’s Hill

Penny’s Hill Unwind in the unique surrounds of historic ‘Ingleburne’ homestead while tasting their premium estate grown Penny’s Hill wines. Relax indoors on comfy couches by the fire in winter, browse the art gallery or soak up the outside ambience, bursting with farm yard charm, complete with chooks and black-faced Suffolk sheep.

Coriole Cellar Door

Coriole Vineyards was established by the Lloyd Family in 1967. The vineyards date from 1919. Wines are estate produced and sold in many countries around the world. Coriole has been an Australian pioneer of sangiovese and the Italian white variety fiano. More recently, it has planted picpoul, adding to grenache blanc, negro amaro, sagrantino, montepulciano and prosecco.

Shingleback Winery

Shingleback From a small start in 1998, with a range of just one wine the Shingleback portfolio has grown into a collection of premium wines that include Shingleback, Red Knot and The Gate.  Its 120ha of estate vineyards are one of the keys to that success, which includes winning the Jimmy Watson Trophy 2006 for the ’05 D Block Cabernet Sauvignon. The well made wines are rich and full-flavoured, but not overripe.

Gemtree Cellar door

Gemtree Vineyards is a family-owned winery dedicated to growing better wine naturally, the vineyards certified organic and biodynamic. Melissa Brown, daughter of founders Paul and Jill Buttery, is the viticulturist and husband Mike Brown is chief winemaker and managing director. Their philosophy of minimal intervention in the vineyard and winery produces a wine portfolio of high quality

Primo Estate

Primo Estate has handcrafted wines, including some exclusive
cellar door only wines, in the beautiful setting of our Italian piazzetta style cellar door and tasting room. The biennial release of the Joseph Sparkling Red (in its tall Italian glass bottle) is eagerly awaited, the wine immediately selling out. Also highly regarded are the vintage-dated extra virgin olive oils. Exports to all major markets.

Hardy’s Tintara

Tintara, on the main street of McLaren Vale, has been at the heart and soul of the region from the very beginning. In 1878 Thomas Hardy transformed an old flour mill into one of the region’s best wine cellars, and with his success, the township of McLaren Vale began to prosper and grow. They showcase the original winery, as well as combine time-honoured winemaking techniques with the best of today’s technology.

Alpha Box and Dice

Alpha Box and Dice are a boutique McLaren Vale winery embarking on creating an ‘alphabet of wine’ – with a different wine style to reflect each letter of the alphabet. Each wine fulfils a different purpose and has its own story to tell. The wines transcend style, region and varietal boundaries and are created using small batch, minimal intervention and vegan friendly methods.

Battle of Bosworth

Battle of Bosworth makes single vineyard, organically grown wines from our family vineyards. Battle of Bosworth was established in 2001 by Joch Bosworth and Louise Hemsley-Smith. The wines take their name from the original Battle of Bosworth, fought on Bosworth Field, Leicestershire, England in 1485. Battle of Bosworth make wines with flavour, texture, purity and balance, that best express the unique characteristics of their McLaren Vale foothills site.

Lazy Ballerina

Lazy Ballerina is a special discovery for those in the know. Situated amongst five acres of garden.

The cellar has sweeping garden views and is the perfect place to relax for lunch.

The cellar door and gardens are located on the sweeping bend across from Kuitpo Forest, a ten minute drive from McLaren Vale, Willunga or Meadows.

K1 Winery

The K1 by Geoff Hardy cellar door – is located in the Kuitpo region of the Adelaide Hills. The beautifully situated cellar door overlooks the lake and vineyard and has been recognised as one of Australia’s top cellar door experiences by leading wine industry publications such as Wine Business Magazine and Selector Magazine.
